Extrusion is the process in which a raw product is pushed through a chamber by screws inside an extruder barrel. During the Insta-Pro extrusion process the ingredient is cooked through friction and pressure; rupturing cell walls providing higher nutrient availability. While there are many types of extruders, Insta-Pro International manufactures high and medium-shear dry extrusion machinery designed specifically for oilseeds and grains, like soy and corn.
