Les conditions climatiques en font partie.<\/p>\n<p>Il n\u2019est pas rare de devoir faire face \u00e0 une m\u00e9t\u00e9o impr\u00e9visible comme la s\u00e9cheresse qu\u2019a subi le Midwest. Il y a des ann\u00e9es o\u00f9 l\u2019on se trouve confront\u00e9 \u00e0 une gel pr\u00e9coce o\u00f9 les graines de soja, par exemple, ne peuvent pas arriver totalement \u00e0 maturit\u00e9 avant la r\u00e9colte. Les graines de soja sont d\u00e9sign\u00e9es comme soit immatures, soit ab\u00eem\u00e9es par le gel, soit vertes.<\/p>\n<p>La valeur marchande de telles graines est tr\u00e8s faible et peut se traduire par d\u2019\u00e9normes pertes pour les producteurs.<\/p>\n<p>Sp\u00e9cialiste de l\u2019\u00e9levage porcin \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9tat du Dakota du Sud, le <a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.sdstate.edu\/preview_entity.php?catoid=1&amp;ent_oid=74&amp;returnto=1\">Dr Bob Thaler<\/a> a men\u00e9 des recherches au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1990 qui ont montr\u00e9 qu\u2019on peut retrouver la valeur des ces graines en les extrudant et en les donnant \u00e0 manger \u00e0 des porcs, ce qui permet d\u2019\u00e9viter les importantes pertes de b\u00e9n\u00e9fices du producteur.<\/p>\n<p>Ci-dessous se trouve <a href=\"http:\/\/igrow.org\/livestock\/pork\/pigs-provide-an-alternate-market-for-frost-damaged-soybeans\/\">un article<\/a> que le Dr Robert Thaler a publi\u00e9 le 19 septembre 2001, qui traite de ce sujet.<\/p>\n<p>Il a \u00e9crit&#160;: \u00ab&#160;Du fait d\u2019un printemps humide, de plantations tardives, et d\u2019une saison des cultures plus fra\u00eeche, le r\u00e9cent gel dans la moiti\u00e9 Nord de la r\u00e9gion s\u2019est sold\u00e9e par un soja ab\u00eem\u00e9 par le gel ou vert. Les graines vertes perdent souvent beaucoup de valeur au silo car les teneurs plus fortes en chlorophylle de la graine se retrouveront dans l\u2019huile et le tourteau de soja apr\u00e8s transformation, et ces derniers seront brad\u00e9s sur le march\u00e9&#160;\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab&#160;Toutefois, les recherches \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9tat du Dakota du Sud ont montr\u00e9 que le secteur porcin repr\u00e9sente un excellent d\u00e9bouch\u00e9 pour le soja vert, immature. Les porcs en engraissement nourris avec du soja vert extrud\u00e9 ont grossi au m\u00eame rythme mais ont \u00e9t\u00e9 plus performants que les porcs nourris avec du soja mature extrud\u00e9. De plus, il n\u2019y avait pas de diff\u00e9rences dans les caract\u00e9ristiques des carcasses. Le soja brut doit subir un traitement thermique, pour inactiver les facteurs anti-nutritionnels des graines de soja avant de pouvoir les donner aux porcs, et si la graine est compl\u00e8tement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e mais juste verte, elle a la m\u00eame valeur nutritionnelle que les graines matures\/jaunes apr\u00e8s extrusion. Suivant le co\u00fbt de la graine au silo et celui de l\u2019extrusion, des \u00e9conomies consid\u00e9rables peuvent \u00eatre faites sur le co\u00fbt de l\u2019alimentation animale en utilisant des graines de soja ab\u00eem\u00e9es par le gel en tant que source de prot\u00e9ines pour l\u2019alimentation des porcs.
