For over 50 years, Insta-Pro International has led the way in grain extrusion and oil pressing, with a focus on durable, efficient equipment that meets the demands of feed producers around the world. While the core mechanical design has remained simple and robust, one area has seen continuous innovation: the control systems that run it.<\/p>\n

Insta-Pro currently uses a Unitronics UniStream PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and a large 15.6\u201d color touchscreen. Operators gain instant visibility into key production metrics such as equipment temperatures, motor performance, and feeder speed, all displayed through live trend graphs (fig1). This empowers operators to consistently meet extrusion parameters for maximizing the quality of output products.<\/p>\n

Beyond monitoring, the control panels also automate data capture, with process results continuously logged for recordkeeping, training, and regulatory compliance. Built-in preventative maintenance alerts allow operators to stay ahead of wear issues or performance deviations reducing the risk of unexpected downtime and extending the life of critical equipment (fig2).<\/p>\n

Insta-Pro\u2019s control technology is designed for full connectivity. Thanks to integrated web access and secure data logging, operators and managers can remotely monitor equipment status, access alarms, and review operational data from virtually anywhere. The system also supports seamless integration into broader plant operations through standard industrial communication protocols, ensuring that the equipment can function as part of a unified processing environment.<\/p>\n

Cloud-enabled features further extend the value of the control panels, offering real-time dashboards, trend analysis, and remote system access to simplify management and decision-making even across multiple facilities (fig 3).
